The Queensland Professional Engineers Act 2002 requires that any professional engineering services be performed by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or under the direct supervision of an RPEQ. The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (BPEQ) administers the Professional Engineers Act 2002 and the registration of professional engineers registered to practice in Queensland.

BMG values the purpose and role of the BPEQ, of which its stated objectives are to;
• Protect the public by ensuring professional engineering services are provided by a registered professional engineer (RPEQ/CPEng) in a professional and competent way;• Maintain public confidence in the standard of services provided by registered professional engineers and;• Uphold the standards of practice of registered professional engineers
Forensic and Structural engineering site investigations analyse the structural issues or failures of structural elements/building material.
The structural issues can be avoided by analysing, designing and constructing different elements of the building to Australian Standards and National construction code. However, sometimes, the other factors such as extreme weather conditions, fire, termite attack, etc. can lead to structural damages that cannot be quantified during the analysis and design phase.
Factors such as extreme weather conditions, fire, termite attack, poor construction practice and negligence in the design can also lead to structural damages or failure. In these kinds of cases, an experienced structural engineer can identify the cause of the failure and recommend appropriate solutions.
At BMG, an experienced RPEQ/CPEng providesclients with expert and comprehensive advice on forensic and structural engineering matters.
We assess, determine and provide a comprehensive inspection report detailing expert opinion on the cause of damage and building defects, and cost effective solution for rectification works, if required.
