Project Manager - Preconstruction - Sunshine Coast
Great opportunity for Civil Engineers & Project Managers to help us deliver Major Road Projects on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

We currently have a high demand for Civil Engineers on the Sunshine Coast with Project Management and preconstruction experience and a background in Road Infrastructure Construction Projects, who are interested in joining us for 1 to 2 years.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will Preconstruction Program of Works, including management of the Preconstruction phase of multi-disciplinary transport and road infrastructure projects and programs, project design review and verification, the provision of corporate functions such as resource management, mentoring, QA system updating & maintenance and involvement in Preconstruction Unit Strategic Planning exercises.
The role requires a detailed working knowledge of TMR or equivalent engineering policies, procedures, practices and specifications, in particular those relating to the Preconstruction phase. The roles also require a high level of technical engineering experience and capability to ensure designs are suitable, appropriate and adequate for the purpose and are in accordance with the relevant design standards.
As part of the above team, this role is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
• Project management of multi-disciplinary transport infrastructure planning and design projects through the implementation of contract management tools and systems to enable best practice, achieve value for money outcomes and ensure quality management is consistent with the required standards
• Apply demonstrated expertise and a detailed working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, engineering policies, technical principals, procedures, practices, guidelines and specifications to TMR planning and design projects and activities
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate successful outcomes, develop and foster effective work teams, consult and negotiate with a wide range of both internal and external parties and prepare written reports and submissions
• High level specialist project & technical advice and assistance to other project managers on transport planning, design and project management matters
• Effective leadership, conceptual thinking and resolution of complex problems to various stakeholders for successful completion of transport infrastructure projects
Mandatory Experience
• Minimum minimum of ten years minimum relevant experience in project management and design of road infrastructure projects and programs or acceptable equivalent with any Australian 'State Road Authority' (TMR desirable) Projects either directly or indirectly through a consultant or construction company.
• Demonstrated experience applying technical standards such as Austroads & Australian Transport Assessment and Planning (ATAP) guidelines
• Possess excellent written/oral communication skills demonstrated by a track record for concise reports & effective presentations & chairing of key meetings.
• Proactively Contribute to the HSE obligations and initiatives
Qualifications
• Civil Engineering Degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, which is accepted by the Institution of Engineers Australia as a full Member (MIEAust)
The proposed hours are nominally 40 per week, although no guarantee there won't be more or less hours due to project demands. The roles are Sunshine Coast based, however, some flexibility may be arranged around a % of time able to be worked from your home under some circumstances.
Candidates living within a reasonable daily commute of the Sunshine Coast will likely be given preference, however, we will consider alternatives for people who strongly fit the rest of the selection criteria above.

Site Engineers - Civil Projects - Central Queensland

We currently have a high demand for Civil Site Engineers in central Queensland with civil project experience and a background in Road Infrastructure Construction Projects, who are interested in joining us for 1 to 2 years with possible project extensions and deployment on future projects.
Responsibilities
The successfull applicant will undertake the duties of a site engineer on behalf of a civil contractor relating to the construction of cviil projects in central Queenland in a mining environment.
• Manage the establishment and administration of Minor Infrastructure and Transport Infrastructure Contracts to ensure appropriate quality standards are met and contracts are completed within time and budget
• Perform the role of Administrator (Superintendent) or Administrator’s Representative in the administration and surveillance of contracts, in accordance with the Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Standards, Contract Procedures and General Conditions of Contract
• Liaise with project, technical and operational staff as required to deliver the scope of works outlined in this technical brief. Consultation with external stakeholders may be required
• Assist with the management and co-ordination all phases of the contract administration activities of the contracts in terms of time, budget, quality, safety and environmental issues
• Contribute to the development and documentation of quality management procedures to facilitate the effective delivery of projects to a high standard
• Contribute to monitoring and reviewing technical aspects of the projects designto assist in ensuring that appropriate standards are adopted to meet project objectives
• Use appropriate monitoring and reporting mechanisms with respect to all phases of project and contract delivery
• Provide reports and briefing notes on the health of the project.This includes issues, the status of works, expenditure against program/project, and major incidents and
• Monitor expenditure on the works including costs of contract payments, contract administration and Principal’s materials/services against the project budget and forecast expenditure trends and cash flow requirements for the balance of the project. Reviewing and processing of contract variations and extension of time.
Mandatory Experience
• Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience in the civil construction of transport and road infrastructure projects with any Australian 'State Road Authority' (TMR desirable) Projects either directly or indirectly through a consultant or construction company.
• Possess excellent written/oral communication skills demonstrated by a track record for concise reports & effective presentations & chairing of key meetings.
• Current Valid Class ‘C’ driver’s licence
Qualifications
• Civil Engineering Degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, which is accepted by the Institution of Engineers Australia as a full Member (MIEAust)
The proposed hours are nominally on a 8 days on/6 days off roster, although no guarantee there won't be more or less hours due to project demands.
All transport and living eexpenses will be provided by the client.
